Dengue virus among HIV-infected pregnant women attending antenatal care in Luanda, Angola: An emerging public health concern

The dissemination of the dengue virus (DENV) in endemic regions with HIV is a public health concern greater importance when there evidence vertical transmission DENV during pregnancy. Herein, we investigated among HIV-infected pregnant women Luanda, capital city Angola. This was part cross-sectional study carried out on 42 newly diagnosed HIV. A total 36 plasma samples from HIV-positive were screened for using RT?PCR and ELISA. None specimens tested positive by RT-PCR. Regarding seroprevalence, 94.4% IgG 11.1% IgM. Recent infection (IgG-/IgM+ or IgG+/IgM+) detected past (IgG+/IgM-) 83.3%. risk recent higher over 25 years age [OR: 13.0 (95% CI: 1.14–148), p = 0.039].
